June Policy Updates

Below are the revised policies that affect providers at Kaleida Health. Please take a moment to review this month's updates. The policy links below are accessible from a Kaleida Health computer only or when connected to the Kaleida Health network. New Policies:

  • IMG.165Administration of Imaging Contrast, Pediatric: To provide continuity of patient care and quality diagnostic images, standing orders for the administration of intravenous (IV) contrast will be used.

  • MAT.52  – Doula Policy: This policy outlines the process and procedure for patients who request the use of Doula service presenting to our women’s health and maternity services at Kaleida Health facilities.  Doula services for pregnant and postpartum patients is allowed aligned with current NYS law and evidence based guidelines.      

Revised Policies:

  • IC.14 – Management of Infection Prevention and Control for Plant Operations and Clinical Engineering: Terminology and policy references updated throughout; added C.3 regarding negative pressure rooms.

  • PED.18 (was SS.71) – SBIRT-CRAFFT: Revisions highlighted including removing “trauma” and making applicable to all patients > 12 years of age to their 19th birthday.

  • PT.12 – Advance Directives – Health Care Proxy, Living Will, MOLST: Added Nurse Practitioners to process.

  • SS.25 – Surgery-Tissue: Added statement G.8.
