Kaleida Health is partnering with the Buffalo Marathon to raise funds to fight heart disease in Western New York and benefit the best-in-class cardiac programs at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute (BGMC/GVI.)
The newly created Kaleida Health “Heart to Heart Relay,” presented by The Buffalo Marathon, will feature teams of up to four who collectively run the marathon on Sunday, May 26. After a low initial sign-up fee, they rally together to reach out to their social networks to fundraise in support of the cause.
In Western New York, we are fortunate to have the Cardiac Program at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, one of the highest ranked hospital programs in the nation. Because of their dedication to achieving best possible outcomes for their patients, the team consistently brings the newest technologies available and is able to treat all types of cardiac conditions. Treating patients right here in their community results in faster return to home and quicker recovery.
The Buffalo Marathon chose to partner with Kaleida Health and add this fundraising component this year to continue its vision of helping to better the health of Western New York.
Exchange points for the relay will be at 10k, 20k and 30k, with the first 3 legs of the race at 6.2 miles and the final leg at 7.6 miles. All finishers of the Kaleida Health Heart to Heart Relay will receive a custom medal with additional awards for those reaching team fundraising levels of $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000 and the top fundraising team.
Registration for the Kaleida Health Heart to Heart Relay is now open. To join us in the fight against heart disease, visit the Heart to Heart Relay Page.
